They create a warm atmosphere that makes guests feel at home upon arrival. Many rave about the live music, making for lively evenings where guests can enjoy local bands and performances while indulging in great drinks and tasty food. The menu also earns rave reviews, especially for the all-day breakfast and pub classics like Scampi & Chips. Guests appreciate the selection of beers and cocktails, which consistently receive high marks. Some guests mention that the pub can get quite busy, especially on Friday nights, which can lead to longer wait times for food and drinks. Noise levels can sometimes spike during live music events, making conversations difficult at times, particularly during peak hours. While the interior gives off a cozy vibe, a few visitors feel that decor could use a refresh to enhance the ambience further. Additionally, certain patrons have pointed out that seating can be limited during busy times; reservations might not always guarantee prompt seating, which can be an inconvenience for larger groups.
Me and my partner had breakfast here today, as soon as we stepped through the door we were asked to fill in the track and trace.. The staff are so friendly and there is plenty hand sanitizer available around the pub.I also run my finger along all the ledges to see how clean and safe the pub was and it was gleaming sorry I'm a cleaner 😂 and also want to stay safe with covid! We had breakfast was absolutely delicious! All pipping hot and all staff seem happy in there job. I just wish I lived closer to i would definitely visit more often! The pub is very pleasant and cosy.. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely experience 🥰
Good old fashioned pub with good selection of beers and meals. Friendly staff, popular with the locals and brightly decorated, this pub should not be missed.
We needed a cold drink and a sit down during our visit to Romsey. The Phoenix stood centre stage on the high street. Not very alluring from the outside but just what we needed on the inside. A lovely chatty young lady served us a pint of ale and a lime and soda for a really good price compared to other establishments in the south of England. She chatted whilst she poured the drinks too which also makes a difference to me. Relatively quiet we found a table away from the bar and settled down. A typical old fashioned pub, nothing special, wooden floors, basic tables and chairs, 80s music playing in the background, quirky wall paper, nothing special but it had something, it had the ability to talk to your companion, it felt comfortable, not quite sure what it was but it definitely had something, maybe just the ambiance, who knows. If we were in Romsey again we would definitely pass through its doors again.
Great pub, good beer good music friendly staff
Lovely atmosphere would 100% recommend. Went here today for brunch, food came out perfect and all of us were very happy with it. The chef had lots of people to cook for and the timing was excellent all came out at a similar time. Brilliant place to go for a couple of drinks at the weekend too. Staff are amazing and really friendly.
Just a quick refreshing pint and a lovely welcome..thanks
We (my band, The Retro Rock’its) played at this wonderful venue. Really great staff!
